Individual Snap together Large Plastic Grommets
for light to medium weight fabric

This information applies
only
to our 3/4", 1 1/8", 1 1/2" and 2" Snap together grommets. It does not apply to our 1 1/2"
Grommet Tape System or the 2 3/4" Grommets.
General Information on using large grommets for draperies:
- Cut the hole for the grommet before placing in the fabric
- It is important that the hole for the grommet be cut large enough for fabric to
rest in the lip or flange of the grommet before snapping together (see Fig.1,
below).
- Usually, the fabric width is double the width of the window (see
Grommet Spacing article)
- Most
fabrics need a stabilizer at the top of the drapery where the grommets go. Using
the stabilizer give the drapery a professional look. A fusible stabilizer makes
it easier to cut the grommet holes.
- Use an even number of grommets
-
Determine the spacing you like. (make a template or purchase the pre-made one,
see Grommet Spacing article)

Directions for marking, cutting and setting grommets
- Pin
template in
place (See Fig 3)
- Mark the circle and cut out
- Pop grommet apart, using the
side with the ridges and flange, place grommet in hole so it fits in the flange
of the plastic area of the grommet and is not in the open circle of the grommet.
(sometimes you need to cut the circle larger to achieve this) (See Fig 4)
- Place
the other half of the grommet directly over the opposite side and evenly press
together. (Use a piece of cardboard, lay it over the grommet and evenly press
with the palm of your hand)
